We love the BrailleDoodle.
Felecia Bradford – Braille Instructor, Board of Directors of the National Federation of the Blind Michigan
Sometimes, teaching braille can be frustrating when you do not see progress. My entire desire is to give my students the best, and I believe that the Braille Doodle is one of the best sources of technology in the world today. I am so amazed at what the BrailleDoodle can do. As a teacher, the experience was very exciting. I love the design of the Braille cells, which are separated and designed to use my sense of touch. It is a very precise and easy-to-understand design.
I have a passion for those who were born blind because they have no way to see what a tree looks like or the shape of a house. The templates provided for those types of things are perfect because they give them a sense of imagination and an idea of what a tree truly looks like. I also like the design of going from basic Braille to contracted Braille and then being able to write sentences. You left no stone unturned when you designed the BrailleDoodle. Thank you very much.
Erin Byrn – TVI
At the beginning of this month, I purchased my BrailleDoodle and just wanted to share how pleased I am with it. I enjoy the simplicity, but genius of this design. So I just wanted to share my thoughts and positive feedback.
I have been successfully using this tool to teach a new student who, because she is still learning tactile literacy, benefits from the jumbo braille sizing. This has helped her to master alphabets and practice building words. Not to mention, this tool is tons of fun for her and myself!
Kirk Adams, Ph.D. – Former President and CEO of the American Foundation for the Blind and Lighthouse for the Blind, Seattle, Managing Director of Innovative Impact LLC
As someone who lost my sight at age five and discovered the transformative power of braille literacy shortly after, I can confidently say that the BrailleDoodle is a game-changer—making braille learning accessible, engaging, and fun for learners of all ages. That early braille foundation enabled me to excel academically, earn a PhD, and lead major organizations serving the blind community. This innovative tool fills a critical gap by providing a hands-on, interactive way to develop braille skills while also supporting STEM education and creative expression. The BrailleDoodle’s thoughtful design has the power to transform lives.

Thank you for this fantastic device! I’m deaf-blind, and this is allowing me to communicate with my friends. Thank you for opening doors for me. I am a woodworker, and now my friends can help me with drawings. Thank you so much!

I’m enjoying The BrailleDoodle a lot. It’s a wonderful device, and I feel like I can do more of the things I wanted to do, all my life, with tactile art, graphics and images. It’s a lot of fun to do.
Alison C, Tennessee, TVI and Director of Blind Early Services Tennessee
I am a Director and TVI overseeing a staff working primarily with children ages 0-5, as well as the parent of a young braille reader. The BrailleDoodle has been a great new tool in the toolbox, especially for early literacy goals. Our team can work on tracking, bilateral hand coordination, tactile discrimination, and letter recognition all with one, portable device. I highly recommend this for other TVIs and parents working with braille learners of any age!

Founder & Chief Research Scientist: VEMI Lab
As a professor and research scientist who works with haptic technologies for conveying accessible STEM content and maps, I am very excited about the prospects of the BrailleDoodle. While the front side of the tablet is an extremely effective display for teaching fundamental braille concepts, I am most excited about the back side of the tablet, which has huge potential for conveying graphs. I plan to use this both in creating different stimuli to present to participants in my research studies and as a ‘canvas’ for them to recreate graphs, diagrams, figures, and maps that they have previously learned.
The fact that it is a large format refreshable display, allowing for easy and accurate creation and erasure of content at this price point, is remarkable. I am excited to use it in my research and believe we finally have a large-scale, refreshable tactile solution that is affordable enough to actually get under the hands of many blind people and make a difference in improving educational, vocational, and research outcomes. As a blind person who has been long interested in the creation of such a robust and affordable device, I am excited about the many prospects for the BrailleDoodle. I am definitely planning to use it in our experimental toolkit as well as in my personal doodling.

I love it! I love the fact one can draw figures and small maps and things and be able to feel them. It’s easier to jot a quick note with this because one does not have to write backward as one does when using a slate and stylus. It’s a great invention, and I hope teachers, students, and even business people will make great use of it.

The BrailleDoodle’s amazing! If I had this type of device when I was first learning braille, it would’ve made things way easier. I’m so glad that this came to the market! Plus, it’s also fun!
Michelle A. – Teacher and Parent of Nadiya
Nadiya has enjoyed exploring it. She is fully blind. It has been nice for her to freely draw and explore making lines and shapes, as well as practice plotting on graphs. As a parent, I have found it helpful to show her how some things may look. Nadiya is part of Team Impact and the OSU artistic swimming team. I was able to use the BrailleDoodle to draw body positioning of athletes performing certain moves to help her understanding of body positioning in relation to the surface of the water.
As an educator in a special needs preschool, I have found the learning side of the Braille Doodle very helpful, especially the no-error letters.

I’ve been teaching myself Braille since I couldn’t fund formal courses here in Australia. The BrailleDoodle arrived at the perfect time, helping me transition to writing with a stylus and slate. Practicing on the BrailleDoodle first allowed me to get my first slate writings correct on the first try—an incredibly encouraging success! It also improved my touch reading, as I found proofreading by feel easier than by sight.
I learned Braille through pattern associations rather than dot numbers, and the BrailleDoodle is already helping me with that. I can see how valuable it will be as I progress into Braille math and music. I hope to one day become a professional Braille translator!
